When
completed, the route will connect New England’s 2nd
and 3rd largest cities, extending forty-eight miles
from downtown Worcester, MA to India Point Park in
Providence, RI. It will connect fifteen communities
along the historic Blackstone River Valley and serve
a population of over 1 million.

1980’s – Conceptual
Design/Feasibility Study

1997-2008 – RIDEM and RIDOT
began work on the first Rhode Island segment,
from Lincoln to Valley Falls. Currently, 11.5
miles of the off-street bike path are open to
the public in Rhode Island.

2006 – MHD held the Grand
Opening of 2.5 miles of Bikeway in
Worcester/Millbury, MA
